How can I create subdomains for my domain to point at my server? PDF Print E-mail
Simply go to the Manage DNS page and add a new A entry.
Example: I want to create a subdomain called 'secure' and redirect it to a secure server. Therefore I need to add: secure A XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (secure server IP). This way, secure.domainname.com will go to the secure server.

Our DNS updates twice a day. The DNS refresh times do change but the spacing between refreshes will stay the same.
 
Can I have an IP address as my MX record? PDF Print E-mail
Yes you can have an MX record that is an IP address as long as you enter a full stop at the end of the IP address.
e.g. MX entry: 212.67.202.135. (with the "dot" at the end). Priority: 5.
 
How long does it take for a DNS change to take effect? PDF Print E-mail
It usually takes 24 hours for a DNS change to take effect but please be aware that in some cases it will take up to 48 hours.
 
Why can't I buy a domain name that has expired? PDF Print E-mail
Although a domain name may have expired, it is not immediately available for registration by someone else. Depending on the registrar, they may keep hold of the domain name for several months. We recommend you use our "domain watcher" to watch most domains so they are automatically registered when the domain is released for resale.
